Do I need a referral to see Dr Wallace?
No referral required for purely Cosmetic Surgery but it is still useful to keep your GP informed

Do I need a new referral each time I see Dr Wallace?
No. Your General Practitioner’s referral is usually valid for 12 months for the same problem. A new or different problem requires a new referral.
A referral from another Specialist is only valid for 3 months.

How much does it cost to consult Dr Wallace?
Present fees are $160 for a referred medical problem consultation with $65.70 back from Medicare. A follow-up medical consult is $80 with $33.00 back from Medicare.
The fees quoted here are valid until November 2008.

How much does it cost to ask about cosmetic procedures?
A cosmetic consult is $165 incl GST with no Medicare rebate. This is an extended consultation and includes the taking of digital images if required.
A consult with Nurse Sheri-Lee is $55 incl GST for an initial session and $33 for a short consult.

If I need an operation in hospital, will my Insurance cover all the costs?
No. Operations for medical problems will be largely covered but there will be some "Gap" that will be accurately quoted for you prior to surgery.
Cosmetic operations receive very little cover from Insurance.

Does Dr Wallace see children?
Yes. Dr Wallace worked for 10 years at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children and at least one third of his practice is with children.
All children’s operations are done with an anaesthetist having similar Paediatric experience.
